Before the Outbreak and the Riots these were typical trendy innercity shops. However, an explosive mix of broken gas main and careless Molotov at the Riot's start, in the little traditional Italian cafe that sat in the middle of them, caused the whole row to be reduced to little more than gutted shells.
Now, the four or so shops that once stood are wrecks - upper floors collapsed into basements in places, blackened with soot from the fires that raged through them. In some places, this lends a certain handiness - roofs are accessible through difficult pathways, and the seemingly chaotic destruction makes for easily overlooked hideouts. However, in other places its just suicidally dangerous to be even near the still standing sections.
