Base Class/Sub Class: consumer/technician
Age: twenty-one
Gender: female
Physical Description:
Toshi-Toshi is often mistaken for being much younger than she is. Isn't every Asian? Her hair is the natural dark color while her eyes resemble big brown pits of adorableness. She has a small, petite body that looks absolutely fragile. And it is, too. Though you'll rarely find a bruise, everything hurts. She forgets about it a few seconds later, but the slightest thing causes her to whine over the pain. She has no physical strength whatsoever, but she does have stamina. As much as she sleeps all the time and may act lazy, she's full of unstable amounts of pure, on-going energy. She seems like the type to have it, as well. She is always seen smiling and when she's not she is either trying to mimic someone or just using facial expression to make a point. There is never a dull day with her.
Considering Toshi is rooming with such unique people it's no surprise to see her in a new outfit every day. She would never be offended if you called her a doll. She adores the new outfits and hairsyles! What girl wouldn't love the chances she gets? But you never see her putting their efforts to waste, nor do you ever see her not repaying her friends. One has to understand the way she works to understand how she repays people. She doesn't look like the hard-working type, but she hates owing people. She will often do free design or advertisement work for people she owes, which isn't always good for the company. However, they never complain. She still (eventually) gets her work done there as well. You may not see it, but she is no quiter.
What more is there to know? She has a little round doll's face, perfectly straight teeth thanks to American orthodontists and braces, she's roughly 5'3" and only 105lbs. She looks very thin, but she eats a lot. It just never goes to anywhere but a blackhole. Her hands are small but she is able to type quickly on any keyboard. She has 20/20 vision and excellent hearing, but sometimes it seems she has selective hearing. Her style of clothing range from anywhere to anything, but it is often made up of adorable and colorful outfits. The end.
Personality:
Toshi-Toshi comes from being born in Japan but predominately being raised in America. Of course she introduced herself with her last name first, so generally her childhood friends called her by that name. They eventually started calling her Toshi-Toshi in middle school and it simply stuck, so now she hardly turns her head when called by her first name. Her friends also used her name with a hidden meaning since “Toshi” means alert, so what her friends usually meant by “Toshi-Toshi!” was “Alert! Alert!”. Of course she never thought badly of it. She joined in on her own teasing, but only because she had just as good comebacks. She was always known for her intelligent comments that left the opponent speechless and the crowd applauding. She learned the American way which is rude, too friendly, and lacking in personal bubble space. Now, in Japan, she still acts the same way. She’s trying hard, though, to get back into the habit of proper manners now that she’s back home. But she just can’t get it right!
Toshi has a hard time remembering things, but this only adds to her comedic lifestyle. She loves to make others laugh and she loves to close relationship gaps and get close to everyone. She is naturally friendly and always jumping in to help finish something when somebody else gets too tired. She is someone you can count on... if she remembers. Never set up dates, nor ask her to do it. She loves to procrastinate and she doesn’t bother to write things down so that she does remember. However! She does get the job done on time, even if it’s always last minute. This doesn’t stop her talent from showing through her work, though. It’s just the way she does things. If she does it any differently then she’ll always tell you it’s her worst work. She does things on her own time within your specified time. Rush her and she’ll only procrastinate more.
She is simply, all in all, someone you either love or hate. She won’t allow you to have any in between feelings. She likes being blunt about things, which often gets her into trouble, but as long as she gets the point across clearly then bring on the punishment. She hates beating around the bush, as the Americans say, and she has no problems having a stranger become her best buddy in a five minute time span. This may prove dangerous in the near future, but she knows this. She’s ready, too. As much as she doesn’t look like it, she’s a very tactical person, always planning ahead. She never enters a building before noting ways out, or even looking up building plans. You know, just in case.
History:
Toshiko Takara was born in Chitose, Hokkaido. Her parents, Toshiko Arisu and Kensuke, were one of those few arranged marriage couples that didn’t mind the forced relationship. They got along well and seemed to have the perfect chemistry. Arisu lived her life as a stay-at-home wife while Kensuke made his name fairly well known as a master of digital graphics. They had planned on having kids from the beginning, but not when Kensuke was just about to head to America where a job requested him to be. They waited until after their child was born, not wanting her to be considered an American citizen, and then left Japan. His job led to another, and with that lazy writing typed most of Toshi’s life was spent in Los Angeles or Hollywood. No, she didn’t get to know all the stars, but she was able to see her father’s work on their shows.
Toshi originally began in a private school in which she both excelled and failed at the same time. Her social standing was very high, as well as her test scores. She did not, however, ever to anything besides class work. Home was always her time to play on daddy’s computer programs and recreate or even do better than her father’s saved work. It all started with Paint, too. Her kindergarten drawing were always abstract, which worried her teachers, but her father only encouraged her creativity. This also started her smart-mouthing, and in the end she was kicked out of the private school. Public school was slightly different and she loved it! No uniforms, and she wasn’t the only one that bad-mouthed the teachers. But some of her teachers encouraged her as well, wanting her to be her own self and not conform to what society said she should be. This only made matters worse for those of you who don’t like her personality already.
Home was a place where the Japanese culture still lived, but most of her time was spent with her English-speaking friends in a world that had few manners to learn. She was always praised as she got better and better at her designs, as well as a newly found love for writing. She would write stories based on her friends and design covers for the prints she made. One of her friends suggested it as a career, but freelancing sounded better to her. She was determined to carry on her father’s glory, or so she called it. She isn’t the type of person to be too prideful, nor has she ever been that way, but she has enough to where her confidence is evident but not overwhelming. This is how she got her breaks when returning to Japan.
Her boss, a manager at Sony and Toshiba, was both impressed and horrified by her personality. Though he was not approving of her manners, he also didn’t disapprove. This made her unique in his eyes and her willingness to meet anyone made his job easier in getting her into the business. So far she is doing well and living in a suite! That is, with a makeup artist, a costume designer, an aspiring director, a stage director, and a voice actor. They’re all close and knew each other for about a week before deciding to share a suite together and split the rent. All women and it’s a madhouse in there.
As for her mother? She died in a car accident. This had been during their stay in America. This was the cause of their moving back to Japan. Her father wanted his wife buried on home soil rather than a foreign place.
Lastly, only recently was there a major deal made between a Sony and Toshiba in Japan and one in America. She has been forced to move for job reasons back to America, which is no big deal. She could now go to Asian restaurants and get more food than she got at home without looking fat! This was a big plus, as well as being paid quite a load more.
However, this virus that has spread has made things much more difficult. She is certainly not one for zombies or anything of the sort. She loves them in movies, but not in real life. So... what now?[/size][/ul]
