Physical Description: At the graceful age of 45, Cindy Croft has not looked better! Croft has always taken very good care of her body, and has always been active and sporty since her days at High School. At school she was the head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school, a member of the girls' cross country team, and the captain and point guard of the school's girls' basketball team which went on to win the State Championship in her captaincy.
Often described as a model in a suit, Croft is known throughout the city for her glamorous good looks, she has added a little glamour and style into the Mayor’s boring office.
Croft can always been seen in a suit – usually a high tailored and fashionable one too! During important official city business, such as meetings and sorts, she opts to wear a black blazer and skirt with matching black toeless shoes. But during her city business, such as visiting the industries, healthcare facilities and general meetings of the city people she can be seen in a cream coloured blazer with a black skirt – mixing the boundaries of fashion and style with professional dress code.
Cindy is known in the magazines for her up-do hairdo. She sports a mini beehive in her typical office dress. Although after the disaster she has been seen with her hair down and not looking her usual glamorous self – although still very stylish for a woman in the middle of a disaster.
Personality: As with all politicians Cindy has two sides to her. Cindy’s professional political personality and her home life personality away from daily politics.
Politically, Cindy is a firm and loyal candidate of the Republican party. She supports a conservative and/or center-right platform, with foundations in supply-side fiscal policies, social conservatism, and personal responsibility. Through her political views she has made many enemies, but on the positive side she has brought out more voters and drawn more towards the Republican Party and to her side. Croft seems to have an aura about her that lures in the people and mesmerizes them into a ‘Croft daze’ to which they cannot not vote for her.
During her office as the Deputy Mayor of Williamsburg Croft was pressed by the media on her political views on the law and justice system. When asked about Capital Punishment she said: "If the legislature passed a death penalty law, I would sign it. We have a right to know that someone who rapes and murders a child or kills an innocent person in a drive-by shooting will never be able to do that again." This caused great up rest for many of her followers, but in the end came to her favour when the terrorist attacks occurred in New York in 2001 – it was Cindy Croft who stood by Capital Punishment and pushed forwards her views on whether they had the right to live after having their hands in so many deaths of so many innocent Americans.
From her daily bustle of political life, Cindy Croft is the typical whitewash American. She is free thinking and likes quiet time to herself away from her stressful job. Cindy is not a family orientated woman, and is effectively ‘married to her job’. Although she tries not to bring her career into her family life, she always does.
History: Cindy was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, the third of four children of Sarah Croft (née Sheeran), a school secretary, and Charles R. Croft, a science teacher and track coach. The family moved to Williamsburg, Colorado when she was an infant.
After graduating from high school in 1982, she enrolled at Colorado College (The CC) where she graduated in 1983 with a major in general studies and a minor in political debate. In August 1984, she transferred to the University of Idaho in Moscow (In Idaho), where her older brother, Harry W. Croft, was majoring in education. After two semesters at UI, Cindy returned to Colorado University where she graduated in Politic science, social communications and social sciences.
Croft was elected twice to the city council of Williamsburg, in 1992 and 1995. Williamsburg city councilors serve three-year terms. Croft's first foray into politics was in 1992, when the then 28-year-old ran for Williamsburg city council against John Hartrick, a local telephone company worker. She won 530 votes against John Hartrick’s 310. On the council, she successfully opposed a measure to curtail the hours at Williamsburg's bars by two hours. This surprised Hartrick because she was then a member of a church that advocated abstinence from alcohol. After serving on the city council for three years, she ran for reelection against Anita Rogers in 1995, winning 413 votes to Rogers' 185.
Croft did not complete her second term on the city council because she ran for mayor in 1996 but lost by a minimal of votes – she was then offered the second in command to the Mayor and would step up the job if God forbid anything were to happen to him. Throughout her tenure on the city council and the rest of her career, Cindy has been a registered Republican.
After the Mayor’s 3 year run he was voted back in by the residents and once more Croft was requested as his Deputy. A Mayor can only serve a city for two full 3 year terms, and once the Mayor’s time was up (2002) everyone expected Croft to run once more for the Mayor’s position – with her now vast experience she would surely get the votes.
Instead Croft eloped and travelled the states gaining insight on different policies and the differences in the political opposition in each state. Croft thought that if she observed how the other Mayor’s, Governors, and Senators worked then she could accumulate all the knowledge and help her city for the better.
Croft returned to the city in the early fall of 2007 and was snapped up by the incumbent Mayor to serve under him. Although at first hesitant, she eventually accepted and began to change the face of Williamsburg with her new knowledge of healthcare policies and tax reforms – making her very popular in certain circles but almost hated by the wealthier of the classes – which was a bad move to make.
At the time of the crisis Croft, still serving as the Deputy Mayor of Williamsburg was in city centre when all hell broke loose. The Mayor was supposed to be taken to safety along with his Deputy and chief of staff. Croft decided to stay to ensure the people of Williamsburg were evacuated first, but no evacuation happened. The city became trapped. With the evil within it was very clear to her that everyone in Williamsburg were fish in a barrel – waiting to be shot. They were all sitting ducks.[/blockquote]
