Full Name: Sara Artexa Murpheys
Base Class/Sub Class: Fitness Instructor / Archery Trainer
Strengths: [/b]
Weaknesses: [/b]
Age:28
Gender: Female
Physical Description:
Sara is a pretty, graceful woman who at first appears to be aloof and overconfident. She is about 5’6 and very slim, with a small waist and slight curves. Perhaps because of her regular fitness training, she has less fat on her body than she might normally and has lost some of her curvyness, but instead she has gained strong and slight muscles, made more for running than for power lifting, something that has become useful in the past few months.
Her skin is tanned and smooth, once well moisturised but now has been suffering somewhat in care although as of yet, shows little sign of it apart from the grubby streaks of oil from a project at home. Her features are clear and fine, well defined but not particularly prominent. She suffers from a birth defect called heterochromia iridis meaning simply that she has eyes of a different colour, one azure blue and the other emerald green. The pupil in her blue eyes tends to be naturally larger and better in low light conditions while the pupil in her green eye is smaller and adjusts faster in brighter lights.
Hey hair is long and thick, naturally falling into large slow curls, it is a cold, icy blonde brown. Her eyebrows and lashes are a few shades darker, her eyebrows fine arches while her eyelashes are long but much to her irritation are immune to curling at all.
Personality:
Sara is a person of a rather unusual and unfathomable personality her habit and mood varying drastically from day to day. For the most part she is open, friendly and kind, very sociable and a well liked person however those who spend much time with her see another side of her personality,
In a matter of hours, her mood can change from buoyant and excited to angry, irritated and though she would never admit to the word; depressed. Brought up in a houseful of boys, she was presumed high strung and moody, even hormonal until the was 14 and tried to commit suicide. She overdosed on her mother’s pain killers and was rushed to hospital to have her stomach pumped. She suffered serious injury to her liver and kidneys and underwent a surgery to remove a piece of her liver which to put it simply ‘packed in’. From that point on, she was on prescribed mood stabilisers to prevent her becoming so depressed again.
As she grew older, the mood swings grew worse and she was put onto a cocktail of mood stabilisers and antidepressants which she remains on today; or did until the accident. When properly medicated she is a lively and warm person who readily talks to anyone she meets and befriends very easily. She had a lot of natural charm and combined with reasonably good looks this has always worked in her favour, however she had some difficulty getting employment due to her delicate mental state. When pushed or stressed, she is liable to break and either become very angry, or terrified. In these situations she may lose control and hit someone, only to begin to shake and collapse into a catatonic state where although she is aware of everything, she is unable to move physically. This has put her at somewhat of a spot of danger as a horde of zombies can be quite distressing, particularly to a fragile mind.
When on a good day (which, as said is most days when medicated) she can be rather boisterous and full of good humour. She will not be easily deterred and knows her own mind well and can spot manipulation easily. Brought up in a houseful of boys, she knows how to hold her own ground and can retaliate to even the harshest of insults. On a bad day, she will avoid all company and find somewhere to sit that she can feel her own immortality. She has only tried to commit suicide once since she was 14 and that was at the age of 22 when she jumped from a bridge into a river. Thankfully (or perhaps not) someone jumped into the river after her and she was rescued, sustaining no more injury than two cracked ribs and a broken arm where she hit on the way down.
Her opinions, although strong can be easily changed by a poignant argument, and she is perfectly willing to accept when she is wrong. But she does have the habit of arguing about things she has no clue of, bluffing or blagging as she might call it. When at home to enjoys reading and drawing, being rather a good artists although her pictures change drastically from day to day. Since the infection, she has found it difficult to draw images that do not show some of the devastation in the new world.
History:
Sara is the youngest child in a houseful of boys. She has seven brothers, all born and currently living (as far as she still knows) in Germany. Her oldest brother is 43 years old while her youngest is 32. Sara’s parents were kindly people living in Baden-Württemberg in Germany both of them in their latter years when she was born. Because of her mother’s age when she gave birth she suffered some complications from the birth and suffered from Post-natal depression and damage to her pelvis which put her on painkillers for the remainder of her life.
Sara had a normal upbringing, if a little hectic and busy, she was always being watched by at least one of her overprotective brothers and was always included in their games of football, sports or whatever game they might be playing. She grew up much in the same manner of a tomboy but was always suffering from bouts of anger and depression where she might lock herself in her room and not come out all day. This only really became a great problem when she was in school for any period of time.
In Germany, as they only had school for part of the day, she could normally manage to handle her mood until she could get home, however there were a number of incidents where she assaulted another pupil before collapsing and being unable to speak or move for some hours. Teachers and her parents interpreted this as an early puberty, saying the moodswings were likely because of her growing up. Indeed, nothing was done until she was 14 and when in a foul mood went to the medicine cupboard in her parents bedroom and stole all of her mother’s tablets. She took them all into her bedroom and locked the door, and with a rather large bottle of water manage to consume a rather large amount before passing out. When her mother went to take her painkillers, she found them gone and instantly ran to her daughter, now suspicious that these mood swings were more than a harsh puberty.
Finding the door locked, she had her husband break down the door and found their daughter lying on the bed, sickly green and pale, sweating in a comatose state. Thankfully she had vomited copiously or she would have already been dead. She was rushed to hospital and her stomach was pumped. She was kept in for a week for monitoring and spoke to a variety of child psychiatrists, most of which claimed she was manic depressive and suffering from bipolar disorder, something she would need tablets for, for the rest of her life.
She was returned home under the careful observations of her brothers and her parents, no longer allowed to attend that school. Instead, she was moved to a private school who were informed of her recent incident and attended to her appropriately, monitoring all of her behaviour to keep on top of her moods. She found life easier on the tablets but also found that she retained weight easily, this sent her dieting, yo yoing up and down in weight. Until she found the gym.
She was sixteen when she joined the gym, unknowing about any kind of exercise really. At first she just ran on the treadmill and lifted the occasional free weights. She adrenaline and endorphins acted as her own natural antidepressant and she became addicted to exercise. She began to attend every day, for two or more hours and charmed her way into the heart of a fitness instructor there.
His name was Fredrik and was five or more years older than Sara but she looked older than she was and he admired her determination. He began to teach her archery after she was finished training, spending a few hours every night teaching her. A bond developed between them which might have been considered inappropriate when she was so young but she called him her first love. At eighteen, she ran away with him, moving to America together where they ran archery courses.
They got a loan and started up a business in Williamsburg, opening a gym on the outskirts of town, the pair of them teaching classes together. They stayed together for four years until Sara found out that he had been cheating on her. She tried to commit suicide again and left him, becoming a catatonic for three months before the friends she had made managed to draw her back into society.
She took him to court and claimed half of the gym which she promptly sold to buy herself a flat and find a job. She bought her own equipment and worked as an archery teacher and fitness instructor in the Williamsburg gym. Her skills developed and as she spent more and more time training and shooting, she found that her depression receded. She was living a normal life, right up until the moment of the infection.
When the creatures came running past, she was in work, in the showers. One of her work mates She hid in her bosses apartment above the gym, living on health bars and energy drinks, anything that would get her through.
